5 things to know about the DStv Mzansi Magic Viewers' Choice Awards

Cape Town – Mzansi's hottest stars will be honoured at the inaugural DStv Mzansi Magic Viewer's Choice Awards. 

Viewers had the chance to vote for their favourites within 10 categories which include famous names from the worlds of acting, music, sport, comedy and others.

Here are 5 things you need to know about the awards:

1. When and where

The ceremony will be held at the Sandton Convention centre on Saturday, 26 August and will be broadcast live on Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) at 20:30.

2. Live from the red carpet

Before the ceremony kicks off celebrities will dazzle on the red carpet. Catch all the red carpet glam live at 19:30 on Mzansi Magic (DStv 161).

3. The host

Media personality Bonang Matheba will host the show. Queen B has also been nominated in the best TV presenter category.

4. The nominees

50 Mzansi stars were nominated in 10 awards categories which include: Favourite actor, favourite actress, favourite DJ and favourite comedian.

Celebrities aren't the only ones who will win.

The 1Life Life Changer award aims to recognise unsung heroes who make a difference in our communities on a daily basis.

The winner and the nominator will walk away with R50 000.

One lucky voter will also win a Kia Picanto. 

5. The entertainment

What's a celebration without some entertainment?

Set to hit the stage are some of Mzansi's hottest musical acts like: Cassper Nyovest, DJ Cleo and Winnie Khumalo, Hugh Masekela, Thandiswa Mazwai and many more!
