5 things you quickly need to know about Rosewood

Cape Town – There's a hot new doctor coming to TV!

Rosewood, one of the season’s most sizzling new shows, comes to Universal Channel (DStv Channel 117) this February. Set against the backdrop of America’s hottest city, it follows a charismatic Miami pathologist, who performs ‘for hire’ autopsies to uncover clues that others miss. 

Here's what you need to know:

1. What it's about

In the ten-part crime series, a pathologist finds himself teaming up with a new detective in town to tackle some of Miami’s most perplexing crimes.

2. Meet the main cast

Morris Chestnut , plays the charming Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr. Despite his handsome looks and knack for solving crimes, Rosewood’s life is anything but easy – his ‘seize the moment’ outlook fuelled by years living with health issues that could kill him at any time. On top of that, he must deal with family drama. 

His overprotective mother, Donna (Lorraine Toussaint), wants nothing more than to see him settle down. Meanwhile, his sister and assistant, Pippy (Gabrielle Dennis,), is romantically involved with his other assistant, TMI.

Jaina Ortiz plays the cynical detective Annalise Villa. 

3. The other cast members

Other series regulars include: Anna Konkle plays Tara Milly Izikoff aka TMI, a a hyper-neurotic DNA specialist who works in the lab. S

Anthony Michael Hall plays senior detective Joey Willet.

Domenick Lombardozzi as Captain Ira Hornstock.

Recurring cast members include: Nicole Ari Parker, Taye Diggs, Sam Witwer, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Sherri Shepherd and Joy Bryant.
