Cape Town – ICYMI Netflix is now in South Africa and has lots of awesome content to share with friends and family or just by yourself with a bowl of popcorn.
So we’ve made a list that has a little something for everyone, including a thriller, a few comedies and a fun animation flick for the kids or young at heart.
These are some of the newest additions for August to local Netflix (and some are classics that have been there for a while.)
1. Stranger Things
This new addition stars Hollywood legend Winona Ryder and newcomer Millie Bobby Brown who both make this supernatural psychological thriller, a must-watch.
2. Tallulah
Ellen Page and Allison Janney star in this new addition to the Netflix Originals stable. The movie is about what happens when a young drifter kidnaps a baby and goes to her ex-boyfriend’s mother saying that it’s his.
3. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
This hilarious comedy show deals with heavy subject matter in a fun way that will have you in stitches. Look out for scene stealer, Tituss Burgess, who is a breakout star.
4. Daredevil
You might think that this show is only for action hero fans or comic book nerds but it is worth watching for everyone. It has romance, kick-butt action and some awesome overlaps into the marvel universe.
5. Cooked
Attention foodies, this one is for you. This doccie-meets mouthwatering food show uses the four elements fire, water, air and earth to take you on a gastronomic journey.
6. Fuller House
This family orientated throwback show is nostalgia at its best. Viewers get to catch up with D.J. Tanner-Fuller, Stephanie Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler who have all grown up and are living fun and chaotic lives.
7. Narcos
This one is definitely not for the kids. It is a dark drug-centered-thriller based on the life of Pablo Escobar. Get ready for gun battles and lots of nail-biting moments.
8. Grace and Frankie
Imagine if your husband of many decades invites you to dinner, with your best friends, to tell you not only that he is gay, but he is leaving you for another person at the table. That’s what happened to Grace and Frankie and as you can imagine it’s pretty terrifying for them but lots of fun to watch.
9. Pokemon the Movie - Hoopa and The Clash of Ages
This one is for the kids or the young at heart. Brave Pokemon trainer Ash is on an epic adventure during which he encounters a new and powerful Pokemon.
