A quickie with new SA's Got Talent judge Lalla Hirayama

Cape Town – One of the entertainment industry's hottest IT girls, Lalla Hirayama, is fast becoming a familiar face on TV.

The actor, dancer, model and TV presenter can now also add judge to her very impressive list of credentials.

Lalla joins Shado Twala and DJ Fresh on the judging panel for the 10th season of South Africa’s Got Talent.

We chatted to Lalla about her secret talent, the new show and who she would really love to dance with.

Channel24
"We know you can dance but do you have a secret talent?"

Lalla:
"A secret talent?" she ponders. "I think my talent might be to tell people what talent they have. Well in terms of the show that is," she says jokingly. "I think what most people don’t know about me is that I used to do a lot of drama. I have a good and extensive background in musical theatre and performance."

Channel24:
"What will you be looking for in an act while judging?"

Lalla:
"It’s going to be a mixture of things but specifically these three things: one entertainment value we are looking for in SA’s best entertainer is someone who will make South Africans proud." She continues passionately, "Two, is this person willing to put it all out there on the stage, and three, can this person command the attention of the crowd. You can have a talent and be good at it but can you grab and hold the attention of the crowd?"

Channel24
"Will you harder on dancers seeing that you are one yourself?"

Lalla:
She pauses for a moment and says thoughtfully, "I think that I will be fair and equally critical of everyone. I won’t be biased to a genre." She adds with the experience of that of a performer that "everyone is extremely nervous once you get onto that stage and perform in front of everyone".

Channel24
"What do you think is the sexiest dance?"

Lalla:
"Ooh the sexiest?" she laughs. "After doing Strictly Come Dancing I think the Rumba is the sexiest dance."

Channel24
"If you could dance with anyone who would it be and why?"

Lalla:
"It would be Beyoncé ," she laughs and adds: "Do I really have to even say why?" She continues, "She is so sexy and insanely amazing. I think we all watch her music videos for all her hot moves and practice them in front of the mirror before we head out to the club."
