Johannesburg - The Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa (ASA) is still waiting for M-Net's legal team to respond to a complaint laid about the advertising of the MasterChef SA prize, reports The Citizen.
The ASA's Farzana Omar confirmed to Channel24 that at 16:30 on Wednesday the authority had as yet not received a response from M-Net, but she was hopeful it would arrive before Thursday morning.
The ASA received a complaint alleging misleading advertising of the prize that the MasterChef SA winner would receive.
M-Net advertised that the winner's prize was worth R8m and that the final contestant would receive their own restaurant, the Mondo Vino at the Sun Square hotel in Montecasino, Johannesburg.
M-Net's publicist Ingrid Engelbrecht confirmed to Channel24 that the matter is in the hands of their legal team, saying: "We acknowledge receipt of the complaint and want to deal with it in a timeous fashion."
