BBMzansi: Kay and 'Baby' say goodbye!

2015-05-04 14:17

Cape Town – The first twosome to be paired up to play the game has left the Big Brother Mzansi house after surviving 41 days.

Kay and Pumba affectionately known as ‘Baby’ was the fifth pair to leave the house after failing to get viewer votes.

We chatted to them about their stay in the house, Kay’s feelings for Pumba, and the love connections Pumba made during his stay.

Channel24: You went into the house as singles; did you have individual game plans?

Kay: No, I didn’t have a plan at all.

Pumba: The only plan I had going into the house was to be myself. Other than that I didn’t have a strategy. But while you were in the house things constantly changed and this almost always affected your nominations.

Channel24: Kay, did your feelings for Pumba in anyway shift your focus in the game and what effect did that have on your partnership?

No, not at all. I knew he didn’t like me in that way. He was playing the game and I hated it because I knew these girls were also just playing the game. But it didn’t affect our partnership. I still like him, he’s a really nice guy.

Channel24: Pumba I have to ask, will you be pursuing either of the relationships that you started in the house?

Chelsea and I have decided to meet up after she leaves the house. You know when you’re in the house you’re not sure whether it is real; you have your doubts about people and even relationships that you start with them. I didn’t go there looking for a relationship, it just happened. But we’ll see how things go when we meet up again. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Channel24: One of the big talking points of last week was the fake pair split. What went through your minds at the time?

Kay: We agreed that whatever happened we would not leave the house. I was angry at how K2 and Blue reacted, I really thought that we would leave the house because of them.

Pumba: Blues reaction really stunned me. I really thought that the game was over for me. If Blue and I were to be partners I was afraid that she would not give 100%. The stunt K2 pulled just showed that he is weak. You didn’t come into the game for a girlfriend. Kay and I just rolled with the punches.

Channel24: If you could do anything different what would it be?

Pumba: I really wished that I had not dropped those eggs in Friday’s HOH challenge. But other than that I really don’t regret anything.

Channel24: Was there any point during your stay in the house that you wanted to get out?

Kay: No, not at all. I told Pumba the only way that we would be leaving is if we were voted out.

Pumba: Nothing at all, if they told me to walk around naked I would have properly done that. It was a life changing experience not everyone gets this kind of opportunity. My mom called me last night and said that she was proud of me.

Channel24: What has been the most valuable lesson this experience has taught you?

Kay: It has given me more self confidence. My life just follows a routine. I never really get out there, and this whole experience has made me more confident about myself.

Pumba: I learnt not to be so hard on myself. I am actually not that bad of a guy. I made friends with strangers and I hope that no one in the house has something bad to say to about me.

Channel24: Now that you’re out of the house which team will you be backing: The Royals, Mbalsea, TemBoxx or Ace and Ntombi?

Kay: Ace and Ntombi.

Pumba: (laughs) Chelsea and Mbali.

Channel24: What are your future plans?

Kay: I will be going back to work. Other than that I don’t have any other plans just yet.

Pumba: I really want to work in radio, it’s been a passion of mine for so long. I will be pushing to realise that dream.
