Los Angeles - Canadian born model Chantelle Brown AKA Winnie Harlow, who sufferers from Vitiligo- a rare skin pigmentation disorder, has been chosen as one of 14 girls to compete for the title of Americas Next Top Model.

The 19-year-old model is very popular on social networking sites such as Instagram with more than 100 000 followers. Brown was diagnosed with Vitiligo at the age of 4 which is the same skin disorder that Michael Jackson had.

In her audition video for the show she admits that she sees herself as an underdog and that she wants to prove that people can follow their dreams in spite of their flaws and setbacks.

The tall-legged beauty is not new to the "model world" as she has graced catwalks more than a few times and has recently appeared in a music video. In a bid to create awareness and educate people about her skin disorder Brown posted a video in 2011 titled Vitiligo: A skin condition not a life changer on YouTube which received more than a 100 000 hits.

The Toronto native was a victim of constant bullying and name calling by her peers with names such as "zebra" and "cow" being thrown around.  This lead her to have suicidal thoughts at some point in her life but she rose above it all with her positive outlook and unwavering support from her mother and sister.

The aspiring model has recently shot with celebrity photographer Nick Knight who has shot other supermodels like Kate Moss. The sky is the limit for this vibrant beauty that shows no sign of quitting any time soon. We look forward to watch her star shine even brighter.
