Cape Town – Carte Blanche on M-Net will have an hour long TV special report on Oscar Pistorius this Sunday, 16 February, at 19:00 before South Africa's "trial of the century" starts on 3 March.
The Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius known as the "bladerunner" allegedly shot and killed his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day, 14 February last year. A trial in which he is accused of premeditated murder, will start in March.
MultiChoice will run a special Oscar Pistorius TV channel on DStv from 2 March. Besides various documentaries, the DStv channel will broadcast the court trial live if permission is granted.
Carte Blanche anchor Derek Watts teased that production company Combined Artistic Productions were working on an Oscar Pistorius TV special for the programme earlier last month.
Combined Artistic Productions is also providing the Oscar Pretorius TV channel to MultiChoice which will run for the duration of the court trial.
On Sunday Carte Blanche will devote the hour to a special report on Oscar Pistorius in which leading crime scene experts will reveal "startling findings" according to the pay-TV broadcaster's weekly investigative magazine show.
Sophia Phirippides is the producer of the hour long Carte Blanche special, with Amalia Christoforou as journalist and Subniv Babuta as presenter.
