Channel24’s 10 favourite TV shows of 2014


Cape Town – 2014 was a great year for TV shows. The small screen was filled with suspense, sadness, drama and WTF moments!

We were glued to the screens watching our favourite shows and didn’t know what to do with ourselves when they end. Feeling a bit nostalgic of the year that was we revisited some of them.

We countdown our top 10 favourite TV shows of 2014.

10) Orange is the New Black

A new character, an intriguing storyline and a nail biting finale! We can’t wait to see what happens in season 3.



9) The Americans

In season 2 the Soviet spy couple had more than just their assignments to deal with.



8) Masters of Sex

Thanks to M-Net Edge we finally got the hit show on our screens. And boy, does it make for hot viewing!



7) Hannibal

Hannibal was back for seconds! He was still outwitting the FBI, and dedicated detective Jack Crawford. We have to admit some of the episodes gave us sleepless nights!



6) Scandal aka The Fixer

After a nail biting season 2 finale the political thriller came back with a bang. All the shocking revelations had us panting for more. Season 4 premieres on M-Net on 15 January.



5) Homeland

When the much anticipated season 4 filmed in Cape Town aired on television we were glued to our screens to ‘Cape Town’ spot. The plot is quite riveting too.



4) Flash

This hot new show has taken the world of TV by storm! Great special effects, a villian that you kind of like and a hot lead.



3) The Walking Dead

In season 5 the fight between the survivors and the zombies continued.  A possible cure for the disease upped the stakes.



2) House of Cards

After scheming and manipulating Frances and Claire Underwood finally made it to the oval office.



1) Game of Thrones

Do we even need to explain this one?!
