Los Angeles - Clint Eastwood: actor, director, producer and now reality TV star. The 81-year-old doyen of the US movie industry is to feature in a new show with his wife and two teenage daughters.

The 10-episode series, Mrs Eastwood & Company, will be produced by the same company behind the Kardashian shows and Project Runway. It will follow her around as she tries to promote the vocal group she manages. Eastwood will make guest appearances.

"Nothing is more important to me than family - no matter how you define that," Dina Eastwood said. "People might be surprised by how we live our lives and our unconventional approach, and I also believe that it's hard not to fall in love with my band, Overtone."

Unlikely to appear

The show is being filmed in the family's home in Carmel, California and in Los Angeles. It will air on the E! Network in the US from May 20 onwards.

Clint Eastwood is unlikely to appear too much in the show however, as he is preparing to film his own version of the classic Hollywood tale A Star is Born.

According to reports on Monday, he is now courting Tom Cruise to play the role of the ageing rock star whose tumultuous relationship with a rising singer, to be played by Beyoncé, is at the centre of the film.
