SA dining show ends first season

Cape Town - The first season of Come Dine With Me SA ends in star-studded style on Wednesday as four celebrities take each other on in the kitchen.

Agency owner and model Shashi Naidoo, sportscaster Neil Andrews, radio personality Sam Cowen and TV presenter Ashley Hayden will star in the tenth and final episode of the South African version of the popular British reality show.

The celebs will compete for the R10 000 prize and to see who can host the best dinner party.

The series, which airs on BBC Entertainment (channel 120) on DStv on Wednesdays at 21:00, has seen ordinary South Africans from around the country pitted against each other in a bid for the prize and the title.

Neil Andrews is not counting on his culinary prowess, saying: "My secret weapon is 'the entertainment', which is certain to secure me at least some points," while Shashi is counting on the "delicious wine" to win over her guests.

While Sam Cowen is set on making an impression, Ashley plans to keep it simple, saying: "The diners can expect a simple evening with tasty food and good company!"

It is not yet known if a second season is planned for 2012.

The final episode airs Wednesday December 14 on BBC Entertainment at 21:00.
