In the end, Kuli and Sylvester could not convince the judges that they deserved another chance, after facing off against L'Vovo and Mary in last week's dance off too, and bowed out after a technically shaky Rumba.
This week’s competition saw the first Jive performances from favourites Thapelo Mokoena and Hayley Bennet – whose jailhouse-inspired routine got the thumbs up from judges. Also jiving was last week's no-shows Mpho Popps, who had fallen ill shortly before the live show, and Nombulelo Hlathi who had the most fun with their time in the limelight.
Zakeeya continues to shine
Dancing the Foxtrot on the night were early pacesetters Lalla Hirayama and Grant Esterhuizen whose performance divided the judges but scored well, and consistent pair Jay Antsey and Tsholo Moholwane who were told by judges to bring more passion and sizzle if they hoped to go all the way.
Dark horses Zakeeya Patel and Ryan Hammond continued to wow judges who dubbed them the "full package" – and scored the season's first 9 score!
5FM producer Damon Kalvari and Hayley Hammond continued to struggle with a muddled and out of tune routine which did not go down well with the judging panel. However, viewer support seems to be keeping them off the bottom two. But how much longer will they be able to coast through?
Another couple gets a bye
This week saw another couple miss the show as Connie Ferguson and Brandon Eilers did not take part due to a family bereavement.
After being voted out of the show, Kuli appeared to remain committed to her dancing training, tweeting a photo of herself and Connie's professional dance partner Brandon.

Zakeeya also showed support for the departing Kuli:
@kuliroberts I respect your tenacity and chutzpah! You have big balls Ms Roberts! Thanks for all the quiet lessons! "We are the champions"

As the remaining couples reevaluate and prepare for another intense week of rehearsals, Strictly Come Dancing continues to dominate the social media sphere on Wednesday nights with the official #SABC3Strictly hashtag and #StrictlyComeDancing trending throughout the 20:00-22:00 live broadcast on SABC3 – and well into the following morning too.
