Crushanda out amid voter complaints

Johannesburg - Crushanda Forbes was the third last Idol to be eliminated from M-Net's singing competition on Tuesday.

According to M-Net's management team the latest delivery attracted the most votes of the entire season with Dave bagging 1.4 million votes and Crushanda losing to Mark Haze with a narrow 4% margin.

Several people complained on social networks during the week that their votes did not go through. Mark passed on many tweets from his fans about this issue.

"We watch the voting and voting procedures very closely," said Pierre Cloete, M-Net's channel manager.

"Even if it should build up, there is still enough time for all the votes to come through."

Idols receives the most votes on Sundays and the voting procedure only closes on Mondays at 22:00.

Afrikaans

After being eliminated from Idols, Crushanda said the following: "It's not the end of me. I'm still going to make music for a long time."

Crushanda sees herself as an R&B singer, but hopes to land a record deal soon and would also like to sing Afrikaans music.

"Afrikaans is cool. I am a South African and want to sing Afrikaans," she said on Tuesday at a press conference after she was voted out.

Born in Kimberley, Forbes will soon be moving to Johannesburg to work on her career.

She said she only started gaining confidence after she reached the top five and did not believe that she would come this far. To eventually be the only woman in the top three and to meet guest artist Craig David was some of her highlights.
