David Beckham to star in Only Fools and Horses sketch

Los Angeles - David Beckham will appear in Only Fools and Horses.

The retired soccer star - who is one of the show's "biggest fans" - has filmed a cameo appearance in a special Sport Relief sketch which reunites Del Boy (Sir David Jason) and Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) for the first time in over a decade.

The sketch, due to air on Friday, March 21, will see David join the Trotter brothers in a greasy spoon café in Peckham, London.

Kevin Cahill, Comic Relief's CEO, said: "To be able to record a new Only Fools and Horses sketch is in itself very special but for David Beckham, who is a huge fan of the show, to be part of this is truly brilliant. We would like to thank everyone involved for helping to make this happen.''

The Only Fools and Horses revival marks the first time the comedy duo have graced TV screens together since the 2003 Christmas special.

Fans of the long-running show, which ended in 1981, were devastated to hear of Roger Lloyd-Pack's death last week.

The beloved actor - who played gullible Trigger in the BBC sitcom - passed away aged 69 from pancreatic cancer.

This isn't the first time that David has put his acting skills to the test for Sport Relief, with the hunky star most recently taking part in a 2012 comedy sketch which saw him getting into bed and sharing a bath with James Corden.
