Los Angeles - Dexter season 6 will turn you into a "believer".
The trailer for the sixth season of Showtime's popular murder drama series has been released and reveals some of the themes that lead character Dexter will grapple with in the next chapter.
The tagline "This fall he'll make you a believer" is scattered throughout the 2-minute video in blood-splattered words. Colin Hanks, son of Tom Hanks, as well as rapper Mos Def can also be seen in the trailer which plays out to Marilyn Manson's rendition of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus.
Dexter received six Emmy nominations this year including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Michael C Hall) and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series (Julia Stiles, who played Lumen Pierce in season 5).
Stiles was surprised at her nomination, saying: "It's such an honour to be nominated. What a nice surprise. This was my first experience working in television and I am so proud have been a part of Dexter and to be in such good company with my fellow nominees."
Dexter season 6 premieres on Showtime in the US on October 2, and is expected to air in South Africa on M-Net (DStv channel 101) early in 2012.
