Los Angeles - Elizabeth Hurley will reportedly star in the fifth season of Gossip Girl, TVLine reports.
46-year-old Hurley is to play Diana Payne, "a sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with," according to some of the show's executive producers.
"Diana's entrance on the Upper East Side will change the lives of all our characters - including, and especially Gossip Girl herself," the two producers also hinted to TVLine.
They explained why Hurley was a good fit, saying: "Elizabeth's sense of humour, intelligence and beauty fit the GG world perfectly. We feel very fortunate to have her."
Gossip Girl season 5 premieres in the US on September 26.
