Cape Town - Jenny Morris is joining Food Network.

The well-known South African chef and author, also known as The Giggling Gourmet, has announced on her website that she has been signed on by Food Network EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) to develop and host the channel's first commissioned show in South Africa.

Speaking to Channel24, Morris said: "This is huge. I'm almost at a loss for words.

"I think South Africa has some of the most amazing chefs in the world and we can bring a lot of taste and talent [to the channel]."

Morris said she has already started working on ideas for the show and filming is due to start in October. It is not yet known when the as yet untitled show will air on the channel.
