Get a Reality Check this weekend

Johannesburg – The famous-for-being-famous socialites Babalwa Mneno, Nonhle Thema and Khanyi Mbau will be gracing the screens of the e.tv audience on Saturday in Reality Check.

In each episode, the three divas have to perform various tasks that will expose them to the harsh reality of poor South Africans.

According to the e.tv website, the entire series was filmed in 13 days, with an episode a day, which included early hour call times and long hours.

Khanyi Mbau, The Queen of Bling known for rich boyfriends/husbands, talked to e.tv about the hectic schedule; “The show has been my life. We had 03:00 call times and didn’t finish shooting until 20:00. My poor boyfriend is suffering.”

Lessons from the show

Nonhle Thema, famous TV presenter, actress and businesswoman, believed the show made her much more appreciative of her life.

“I’ve learned to also appreciate my family more. There are so many homeless and hungry families. And I am so privileged to be able to take care and provide for my daughter.”

The last of the trio, Babalwa Mneno, is no stranger to reality TV.

Rising from her fame in beauty pageants, the model is known for her appearance on Big Brother Africa and season 2 of Strictly Come Dancing.

For her, she had lots of fun when they weren’t filming. “The behind-the-scenes is an entire new reality show on its own, we let loose and we’ll often be singing and dancing on set. We also get really serious and discuss the issues we face in the industry.”

Reality Check will be premiering Saturday on e.tv at 18:00. For more detail check out the e.tv website.
