Cape Town – Lifestyle magazine television show Top Billing will be giving viewers an exclusive, "front row seat" look into the lavish Gupta wedding on Thursday.
The wealthy, well-connected Gupta family celebrated the nuptials of Vega Gupta, 23, to Aakash Jahajgarhia, 24, in a ceremony at South Africa's luxury Sun City resort.
Top Billing, which will air at 20:30 on Thursday on SABC3, will broadcast footage including behind the scenes action and interviews with the family by presenter Simba Mhere.
The Guptas and their guests have caused much controversy while in South Africa with questions being raised about receiving preferential treatment from the government after an aircraft chartered by the family landed at Waterkloof Air Force Base. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
The family has also come under fire for the lavish wedding ceremony, and allegations of racism have been levelled at them and their guests from Sun City staff saying that the guests refused to be served by black people.
"Top Billing is synonymous with all things glamorous and is also known for covering A-list events," said SABC3 marketing manager Risuna Mayimele.
"We are pleased to live up to this by bringing our viewers one of the biggest events in the South African social calendar - the Gupta wedding."
Catch the episode on SABC3 on Thursday, 9 May at 20:30.
