Hot new hosts for Strictly Come Dancing

Cape Town – Comedian Marc Lottering and radio and TV star Pabi Moloi have been unveiled as the new hosts for the sixth season of Strictly Come Dancing.

The popular dance show, which pairs celebrities with professional ballroom dancers in a weekly live contest, is returning to South African TV screens on Wednesday, 10 July, making its debut on SABC3.

Wild-haired, Cape Town-born Marc is an instantly recognisable and renowned stand-up comedian who has written and produced 15 one-man hit shows for the stage.

Joburger Pabi Moloi is a television presenter, actress and radio DJ best known for hosting the M-Net (and later Mzansi Magic) magazine show All Access. After quitting 94.7 Highveld Stereo earlier this month she has been added to the star-studded line-up of new talk radio station Power FM.

Not only are the Strictly Come Dancing presenters brand new – so is the judging panel, which this seasons will be made up of Michael Wentink, Tebogo Kgobokoe and Samantha Peo.

'Wealth of experience and expertise'

Michael Wentink is world renowned international adjudicator, lecturer, instructor, and Strictly Come Dancing first season winner. Michael is also the Undefeated World Latin American Dance Champion.

Tebogo Kgobokoe has extensive dance experience having been a finalist in the World Latin Professional show dance competition. She has also choreographed for some of the biggest television shows in South Africa, including So You Think You Can Dance and Superdance South Africa.

Dancer, singer, actress and performer Samantha Peo worked with some of the best directors and choreographers both locally and internationally, including the Broadway choreographers for West Side Story and Chicago. She has also won both the Naledi Award and the Fleur Du Cap awards for her performance in Cabaret.

"We are very thrilled with the calibre of hosts and judges for the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing which makes its debut on SABC 3 this July," said SABC3 Marketing Manager Risuna Mayimele.

"This brand new team brings a wealth of experience and expertise to what is an enormously successful and exciting TV show."

Strictly Come Dancing will air from 20:00-22:00 on Wednesdays with a 10 minute break to allow for public telephone voting. The results will be announced later on the same evening, according to SABC3.

The ten celebrity contestants and their dance partners will be announced officially in early July.

Previous celebrity winners of Strictly Come Dancing include Rob van Vuuren, Emmanuel Castis, HHP, Zuraida Jardine and Riaan Venter.
