Idols Jozi auditions: The good, the bad and the awkward!

Johannesburg – It’s the 10 year anniversary of South African Idols and boy did it kick off with a bang!

Starting off in Jozi millions of wannabe Idols made their way to Carnival City. A total of 18 golden tickets were handed out. Here's how things went down.

It was off to a good start with Leo van Zyl getting the first golden ticket of the season.

From there things went downhill when a string of wooden mic auditions followed. Thabang Baloyi set a new record with his rendition of Like a Virgin.

Things heated up when exotic dancer Geo Strydom took to the stage and gave Unathi her first lap dance on national television. Geo might have the moves but this is after all a singing competition. He left without a golden ticket.

Our performance of the night goes to Ayanda Ntame, who performed Dr Malinga’s Hangover or rather Hand over. He’s got moves like Malinga!

No audition round would be complete without an original composition and uhm, Remember didn’t disappoint. Whoever you are, just let him go already!

We weren't the only ones glued to our screen, as it seems the whole of SA was watching and they were very vocal on Twitter.

The 'I love Idols'

The 'I hate the judges'

The confused?
