Idols loses two women

Johannesburg - Erin Fourie and Dené Vorster are no longer in the Idols competition.

At Tuesday's elimination show, the 27-year-old teacher from KwaZulu-Natal was the first to be sent home.

Host ProVerb immediately revealed that Lefa Pike and Freddie Van'Dango were safe and would continue on to the Top 6 round.

Van'Dango was not present at the elimination show as he was recovering from surgery to repair his broken cheekbone.

The remaining six were then split into two groups.

Host ProVerb asked the judges to divulge who they thought would be sent home between Mark Haze, Kelly Fortuin and Erin Fourie.

Despite using their one and only save on her in the previous elimination, Gareth Cliff and Unathi Msengana thought Kelly was at risk. Randall Abrahams, however, correctly predicted that it would be Erin's last turn on the Idols stage.

Young dreams dashed

16-year-old Dené Vorster, the youngest Idols contestant, was also sent packing after being pitted against Dave van Vuuren and Crushanda Forbes.

Randall was once again correct in his prediction while Unathi thought Dave was in danger.

Sunday's guest judge, international R&B artist Chanté Moore, performed during the elimination show.

The Top 6 Idols will perform in another spectacular at the Mosaïek Teatro in Fairlands, Johannesburg on Friday September 2. The show will air on M-Net (101) and Mzansi Magic (107) on Sunday at 17:30.
