Cape Town – Jennifer Lopez is the latest A-lister to return to the small screen.

In the new NBC series Shades of Blue, JLo will play detective Harlee Santos, a single mother who becomes a federal informant.

Her co-stars include Ray Liotta as Lt. Bill Wozniak and Drea De Matteo as Tess Nazario, a policewoman and mom of three.

The series follows a tight knit squad who walk a thin line between bad and good; they keep the city safe but are also shady when it comes to protecting their own and stuffing their own wallets.

The show was directed by Barry Levinson and produced by JLo and Ryan Seacrest.
