Cape Town – Jeremy Mansfield accidently let slip at the Good Food & Wine Show that he has been contacted by two production companies to host MasterChef SA.
Ingrid Engelbrecht, M-Net's publicist for Original Productions, told Channel24 that she could neither confirm nor deny Mansfield's participation in MasterChef SA, but said that the show is still in very early stages of production and they are still to decide if the show's format would include a host.
MasterChef South Africa is a local version of the popular MasterChef Australia which aired on M-Net earlier this year.
Mansfield started his broadcasting career at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, moving on to Capitol 604 in Durban. In 1990, Mansfield joined 702 Talk Radio, and in 1996 he finally moved to Highveld Stereo, launching what was to be the hugely popular Rude Awakening breakfast show.
In 2009, Mansfield announced that he had been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, for which he announced he was undergoing treatment.
In 2010 Mansfield was cast in Disney's local release of Toy Story 3 as the voice of Lifer.
