Los Angeles - Khloe Kardashian and husband Lamar Odom are taking a hiatus from their reality TV careers.
The 27-year-old star and the basketball player are having a break from their Khloe and Lamar show to enable the 32-year-old sportsman to achieve his dream of playing for the US team at the London 2012 Olympics this summer.
She said: "He's training for the Olympics, he's in the top 20 to go.
"Try-outs are in the first week of July. They only take 12 but to be in the top 12 is like a Grammy nomination. I didn't pull the plug, let's just call it a hiatus."
A trade
The couple are also planning to spend more time with Lamar's kids Destiny, 13, and 10-year-old Lamar J., from his previous relationship with Liza Morales.
Speaking on The Tonight Show, Khloe added: ''I just said I wanted the summer for ourselves and to be with family and spend time with his kids."
Lamar - whose six-month-old son Jayden died while sleeping in his crib in 2006 - is hoping for a trade from the Dallas Mavericks at the end of the season as he recently parted ways with the team.
However, instead of being released he has been listed as inactive for the remainder of the NBA season.
It was recently revealed that Khloe and her family - including mother Kris Jenner and sisters Kim and Kourtney Kardashian - have signed a three-year deal for more series of Keeping Up with the Kardashians worth $40m.
