London - Kylie Minogue has been offered £1m to judge The Voice.
Despite BBC chiefs putting up the huge pay cheque in the hope the Australian singer will sit on the panel of the new show alongside Jessie J and Sir Tom Jones, she is thought to have asked for more cash.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We have held initial discussions with her but unfortunately we are not yet at the stage where a deal has been done.
"We'd love to have her on the show but we can't offer the size contracts as The X Factor so money could be a stumbling block."
Save money
It is believed Kylie, 43 - whose sister, Dannii, was a judge on The X Factor until this year - has asked for around £2.5m to appear on the show.
News of the huge pay offer is said to have infuriated BBC staff as 2 000 jobs are to be cut at the network in a bid to save money.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Great. Kylie gets another million quid and we get the sack."
Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am had previously been linked with a judging role on The Voice.
A source recently said: "will.i.am is 95% a done deal. He is a big star and loves nurturing new talent. He shoots from the lip, and will not be afraid to tell it like it is. Although I doubt The Voice will be as bitchy as The X Factor."
