MasterChef SA finale details revealed

Cape Town - The MasterChef SA finale is scheduled to air on Tuesday 24 July.

It was previously reported that the finale would air 17 July, but due to a double episode earlier in May, the finale was pushed back.

It will be a 90-minute episode airing from 19:30 to 21:00.

While the final episode has been recorded at the MasterChef SA kitchen at Nederburg wine estate, a live finale event is planned for the evening where the winner will be presented with their prizes.

The event will take place at the MondoVido Restaurant at the SunSquare Hotel at Montecasino in Johannesburg. The winner will get the opportunity to run the restaurant for two years.

The final three contestants are Manisha Naidu, Deena Naidoo and Sue-Ann Allen. Two of these chefs will face off in the finale.

MasterChef SA airs on M-Net and M-Net HD on Tuesdays at 19:30.

Has the prize been changed? Originally the winner would be getting their OWN restaurant within a Southern Sun hotel. Why now do they get to RUN the restaurant for two years?

Maybe just the wording was confusing, "The winner of the MasterChef SA reality show will become the biggest reality television prize winner in the history of South African television and will receive his or her very own restaurant!" - http://www.joburgtourism.com/visitor-information/travel-information/news/southern-sun-presents-masterchef-sa-winner-restaurant

While the show is 'okay', it is just that, 'okay'. I much preferred the Aus format. What I would ideally like to see is two episodes per week, one with a proper master class and maybe a celebrity challenge, and the other one can be a 'normal' (challenges/elimination) one.

WTH??!! I thought the winner gets to OWN his/her own restaurant, NOT run it for two years. Seriously??!!
