Cape Town – kykNET on Wednesday announced the cast of their much anticipated new Afrikaans soapie, Suidooster.
“There will be a lot of familiar faces as well as a gust of fresh new talent,” said Karen Meiring, M-Net’s director of Afrikaans channels.
“These actors will undoubtedly blow viewers away with their talent and keep them glued to their TV screens,” Meiring added.
Suidooster, the first Afrikaans soapie to be filmed in Cape Town, will feature veteran talent like Denise Newman, Johan Botha, Cedwyn Joel, Abduraghmaan Adams and Marcel van Heerden.
Other famous faces on the Afrikaans soapie include Theresa Sedras, Jill Levenberg, Portia Joel, Danny Ross, Irshaad Ally and Marco Spaumer.
Some of the fresh new talent includes Gerwen Simon, Simone Biscombe, Gideon Lombard and Greta Pietersen.
The soapie will play off in and around a small shopping and business centre situated in the fictional Cape Town suburb of Ruiterbosch where the lives and times of three families will be placed under the looking glass.
Suidooster will be aired from 16 November on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 18:00 on kykNET and kykNET & kie and promises intrigue, drama and great entertainment.
