Cape Town - SABC3 will be screening the wedding of Prince Albert II and South Africa's Charlene Wittstock in Monaco on Saturday July 2.

The broadcaster will also air an exclusive interview with Wittstock on the channel's weekly magazine show Top Billing as a primer to the wedding broadcast.

SABC3 hasn't signed the broadcasting rights as yet and details like whether the wedding will be showed live, delayed live or be a somewhat later recording still need to be ironed out. However, the broadcaster says that SABC3 will definitely be showing the wedding on July 2, which it is calling The Royal Monaco Wedding.

"You are cordially invited by SABC3 to watch a South African woman's dream come true as Charlene Wittstock weds Prince Albert the second on 2 July," SABC3 told the press, calling The Royal Monaco Wedding "a must see".

Panel of experts

SABC3 says its also mulling over the exact format of the wedding broadcast with insiders who've revealed that the broadcaster is considering adding a panel of experts to discuss the wedding similar to what E! Entertainment did with the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

"The expert or experts will have to be someone or people who personally know her and can give insight into her life and talk about Charlene Wittstock and make the wedding experience personal for viewers."

Top Billing will air an exclusive profile interview with Charlene Wittstock to be broadcast on Tuesday June 14 at 19:30 on SABC3.
