Mr. Robot finale postponed due to similarities to Virginia TV shooting

Cape Town – On Wednesday the world watched in horror as a TV reporter and her cameraman were shot dead on live TV by a disgruntled former co-worker.

WDBJ-7 TV reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, were killed during an interview in Moneta, Bedford County, BBC reported.

Just hours later the season finale of the hit new TV show Mr. Robot was pulled from air citing similarities between the show’s final episode and the tragic shooting.

“The previously filmed season finale of Mr. Robot contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today’s tragic events in Virginia,” the network announced on Twitter.

They added; "Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight’s episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time.”

The episode will now air on 2 September.

Mr. Robot is currently available on M-Net and is only on episode 5. No delay with the local broadcast of the show has been announced.

According to IMDB the show follows a young computer programmer, played by Rami Malek, who suffers from social anxiety disorder and forms connections through hacking. He's recruited by a mysterious anarchist, who calls himself Mr. Robot.
