New Afrikaans weekend show NAweek coming to SABC3

Johannesburg - This spring and summer offers a guide to filling your weekends. From 20 September 2014 at 19:00, SABC3 gives you a new Afrikaans programme loaded with ideas and plans for weekends full of fun, adventure and new memories. NAweek – your guide to weekend entertainment!

The programme will be aired on Saturday evenings and, with Amor Engelbrecht from the magazine show Pasella as the producer, it promises to keep viewers glued to their screens. Under her guidance, Pasella has won numerous awards over the years from SAFTA and the ATKV. Earlier this year, the programme was awarded two Veertjies again – one for best lifestyle programme and the other for best magazine programme in South Africa.

"It is exciting to produce NAweek. With new presenters and a fresh approach we hope to provide our Afrikaans viewers with entertainment on SABC3 that will enrich their lives," says Amor Engelbrecht

"SABC3’s offering is about ensuring that we’re able to bring proudly South African stories to a melting pot audience. We are thrilled to bring this fresh new Afrikaans Lifestyle/Talk show to our viewers," stated Aisha Mohamed, Head of Bouquet: SABC3.

Amor’s ability to choose presenters, who suit the content of programmes, ensures a lot of energy to make NAweek exciting and vibrant.

They are: Pulane Sekepe (well known in theatres around the country), Leandie du Randt (Egoli, the Movie, Susanna van Biljon, Semi-Soet, Klein Karoo & Strictly Come Dancing) Sean-Marco Vorster (Die Windpomp), Viljé Maritz (Binneland, Verraaiers), Marlo Minnaar (SABC1, Class act) and Stephanie Knozer, (avid hip-hop dancer who is known to our theatre audiences).

Vilje Maritz had this to say, "To me, NAweek is a dream come true. I cannot wait to get out there and explore our country while making new friends along the way."

"NAweek is fresh and full of fun and will haul our viewers out of their homes to fall in love with our country, cultures and people all over again," commented Leandie du Randt

NAweek airs every Saturday at 19:00 on SABC 3!
