Cape Town – Ayanda (Aya) Mpama will take over from Tumi Morake as host of the popular Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) television show, Our Perfect Wedding.

The announcement comes after it was revealed that Tumi would not be returning for the rest of season 5.

Every season has seen a new presenter and former hosts include Thuli Thabethe, Brenda Ngxoli and Phumeza Mdabe.

Ayanda is no stranger to TV as she has previously presented entertainment show Noted on SABC 3 and the music show Soul Sundays on SABC1.

She was also one of the top 6 finalists on Idols in 2005.

Ayanda is thrilled about her new gig, "OPW is a successful show that has made Mzansi fall in love with it. I love being a part of this production means that every weekend I get to meet many different couples from different backgrounds and get to know them which I find exciting. It also means that every Sunday I get to interact with multitudes of viewers.  It's any performers dream to be able to reach so many people at one time.”
Commenting on the viewer appeal of the much-loved show Aya says, "It does well because there is never a dull moment. Each wedding comes with its own flavour and surprises. I'm looking forward to meeting the couples and their families, and witnessing their love stories first hand."

Ayanda will be on screen from Sunday, 5 July.
