Cape Town - Nonhle Thema will no longer be a presenter on DStv youth channel Vuzu.
Sources told Channel24 that Nonhle Thema will no longer continue as a presenter of the daily entertainment news show V Entertainment and Nonhle Thema tweeted: "Damn. My breakup with Vuzu feels like a divorce. Damn but it had to be done. I love them to much to keep hurting them (sic)."
Solly Moeng, acting channel head of Vuzu, confirmed the split by saying "Nonhle will be pursuing her own projects for now" and that "Vuzu would like to thank Nonhle for her contributions to the channel and wishes her well with her new ventures".
In a press release Nonhle Thema is quoted as saying: "It has been great being a part of Channel O and Vuzu, but it's time to move on. I will always have fond memories of the shows and people I worked with and look forward to a bright future for me and the channels. We need to keep on growing."
No reason was given by Vuzu or Nonhle Thema for the split.
The shocking news comes after a marked change in the public persona of the once TV darling who was on a stellar trajectory to fame and TV fortune. The telegenic Nonhle Thema joined the music channel, Channel O, on DStv where she was a presenter and branched out to do the celebrity interview show O Access, after which she moved to Vuzu when the GO youth channel relaunched.

She presented the daily entertainment news show V Entertainment, and didn't miss a chance to tell fans that she became the face of Dark & Lovely. She also tried her hand at her own reality show which was filmed in 2010, Nonhle Goes to Hollywood, which was broadcast earlier this year.
TV critics and viewers however pounced on Nonhle Thema's reality television endeavour and savaged the show for its production values.
in the last months fans and viewers noticed a personality shift within Nonhle Thema, and observers started speculating about a possible social media meltdown. Nonhle Thema unleashed what could be described as a Twitter-tirade, blasting all her so-called "haters", and bragging about how much money she has.
Twitter comments like "All my Twitter antics have made me powerful", "I made over 10 million rands as the face of Dark & Lovely", "When I'm on TV doing what God has created for me it's like walking on water", and "I'm rich, young and black. I hope the press will use my good pics" fuelled intense speculation within the South African entertainment industry that something is possibly serious amiss with Nonhle Thema.
