Cape Town - Old Spice spoofs Nando's spoof.
Recently Nando's released a television ad that spoofed the famous 'I'm on a horse' ad from Old Spice, where instead of Old Spice and diamonds the actor is holding chicken wings.
Not to be outdone, Old Spice SA decided to rise up to the challenge and released this photo on their Facebook page on Wednesday:
On Thursday morning, Old Spice SA posted another retort under the caption: "Imitation may be the sincerest form flattery... but nothing beats the Original™" (sic).
This is not the first time that a spoof of Nando's elicited a reply from the company that they were parodying.
Last year Nando's spoofed the Santam ad featuring Ben Kingsley and a wardrobe-changing bartender.
The finance company retaliated with a challenge that compelled Nando's to donate their food to the Johannesburg Children's Home.
Nando's not only lived up to the order, an entire day ahead of Santam's deadline, but also announced in a follow-up ad that they will delivering food to the home on the last Friday of every month for a year.
