Johannesburg - The BBC series Come Dine With Me will be filmed in South Africa during August and September and it will feature local contestants.
According to a statement by the BBC, it is the first local production from any of the BBC Worldwide channels that will be shot in Africa.
The series consists of ten episodes in which four contestants per episode compete against each other to be the best host.
To win the competition contenders have to impress with their culinary skills as well as their hosting abilities at a dinner.
The host with the most points in each episode wins.
The series will premiere in October on BBC Entertainment (DStv channel 120) in South Africa.
