SA actress makes comeback on US soap

Los Angeles - Esta Terblanche is coming back to All My Children, reports TVLine.

The South African actress, who's best known to South African audiences as Bienkie from Egoli, landed the role of Gillian Andrassy in 1997 and left the popular American sopaie in 2001 when her character was killed off.

But what is a little death in the soap world?

During her four years on the show, Terblanche's character married Ryan Lavery (played by Cameron Mathison) and they were known as one of the show's many super couples.

It is not yet known if Gillian will reappear in a dream sequence, as a ghost or if she will return to life.

Swan song

The long-running American soap, which ends its 41-year daytime TV reign on September 23, is reportedly bringing back former characters as part of its swan song.

Josh Duhamel, who played the role of Leo du Pres from 1999 to 2002, is also slated to make a comeback.

All My Children currently airs in South Africa on SABC3 weekdays at 09:30.
