Sharon Osbourne: X Factor is better without Simon

Los Angeles - Sharon Osbourne prefers The X Factor without Simon Cowell.

The 60-year-old star - who quit the panel in 2007 because she could no longer work with Dannii Minogue - admits she doesn't miss working with the music mogul, but she can't seem to escape him even when he's working Stateside on The X Factor USA.

She said: "Oh good God no [I don't miss Simon]. Don't be ridiculous.

"I get home, I lay on the bed, watch telly and there is fucking American X Factor on.

"I'm like, 'You can fuck off! You can't be here as well!'"

'Just the right combination'

The sharp-tongued judge believes the panel is the best it has been since 2006 - before Dannii joined - as Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger have a connection and it wouldn't be a strong show without them on board.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she added: "To be able to sit next to Gary, Louis and Nicole where you have got people at the top of their game...

"Gary, I bow down to him and Nicole! To have two great artists and two amazing managers is such a gift and the personalities work well, it's very respectful. It just gels.

"It's just the right combination. If Gary or Nicole wasn't there it wouldn't be the same.

"This combination works, it's important to have that rapport we had in the beginning. It worked - then it didn't."
