Simon Cowell: Richest UK reality TV star

London - Simon Cowell has been named the richest reality TV star in the UK.

The music mogul - behind shows such as The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent - topped the annual chart by Now magazine with an estimated £225m fortune, while his protégé Susan Boyle was second after earning £22m.

Boy band One Direction - who Simon mentored on the 2010 series of The X Factor before signing them to his record label - are worth £20m each, giving them third spot in the list while glamour model Katie Price's £17.5m fortune saw her come fourth.

Cheryl Cole - who shot to fame on Popstars: The Rivals with her band Girls Aloud in 2002 and was also an X Factor judge for three years - came fifth after earning £15m while original Pop Idol winner Will Young (£13.5m) came sixth.

X Factor 2006 winner Leona Lewis, Dragon's Den star Levi Roots, Popstars beauty Myleene Klass and 'Made in Chelsea' entrepreneur Francis Boulle made up the rest of the top 10.
