Simon Cowell starting dog talent show

Los Angeles - Simon Cowell is starting a dog talent show.

The TV mogul is setting up Take The Lead, where owners will parade their talented pooches skills in front of an audience.

The ITV show comes after the phenomenal success of Pudsey the dancing dog and his owner Ashleigh Butler, who won another of Simon's shows, Britain's Got Talent, earlier this year.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Simon is very excited about this show. It's no secret that he loves dogs."

Ashleigh, 17, will be a judge on Take the Lead, while Britain's Got Talent panel member Alesha Dixon will host.

'Autobidography'

The show is being tipped to take on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special over the festive season.

Meanwhile, six-year-old Pudsey - a border collie, bichon frise and Chinese crested cross - released his 'Autobidography' in London on Wednesday, and did a book signing, accompanied by Ashleigh.

Announcing the book, Pudsey, through his publicist, said: "I'm still leading a dog's life but it's a life like no other when I was invited to write about it I jumped at the chance. I also turned in circles."

Ashleigh, who is said to have signed a £100 000 deal for the book, said: "The Autobidography is more about what happened before Britain's Got Talent, like his journey from when he was a puppy to how he always wanted to dance.

"Not only can he dance - he can sing, he can act, he can write books now! I think there's a bit of everything in there for everyone. It's humorous, it's cute. It has its sad moments as well."
