Cape Town - Three contestants have left the Survivor SA: Maldives island in one week.

District 9 actress Vanessa Haywood was removed from the competition by medical staff after sustaining a serious neck injury.

In another shock, both tribes were called to tribal council to vote off one of their members.

Goma voted off Haywood's alliance Roxy Burger and Tejan Pillay convinced the Raituhn tribe to vote off Harry Wiggins.

It is not yet known when the two tribes will merge.
