TV obsession of the week: Fear The Walking Dead

Cape Town – The Walking Dead might be on a hiatus but fans can still get their zombie apocalypse kicks.

Fear the Walking Dead, the spinoff of the hit show series hits South African screens today.

The first season has a six episode run and a second season with 15 episodes has already been commissioned.

Here’s what you need to know about the show:

What it’s about:

Fear the Walking Dead is a prequel to The Walking Dead. The series will take a look at how the zombie apocalypse started in Los Angeles.

The series follows guidance counsellor Madison and her recently divorced partner Travis seeking help for her heroin-addicted son Nick who recently woke up to discover that his girlfriend had apparently become undead.

The cast:

Kim Dickens plays Madison Clark a high school guidance counsellor. Cliff Curtis is Madison’s fiancé. Frank Dillance is Nick Clark, Madison’s drug addict son and Alycia Debnam-Carey is Alicia, Madison’s daughter.

Other cast members include: Lorenzo James Henrie,  Elizabeth Rodriguez, Rubén Blades, Mercedes Mason and Patricia Reyes Spíndola.

Where can you watch it?

If you missed the screening at 03:10 this morning you can catch it at 20:00 tonight on AMC (DStv Channel 140).
