The newlyweds return to Isibaya

2015-02-20 13:16

Johannesburg - Actors Sdumo Mtshali and Nomzamo Mbatha are back, after nearly a year away from Mzansi Magic’s telenovela-turned-soapie Isibaya due to a pay dispute with producers.

They are continuing their roles as lovers Sbu and Thandeka, now newly married.

City Press could not get hold of Mtshali but Mbatha was happy to take time out from her shoot to speak to us.

"I can confirm that I am certainly back on Isibaya, and am busy shooting as we speak. I am very happy to have returned to Isibaya at this point in my career.

"Being away had its great moments. I am now far more mature as an actor and bring that to Thandeka. We return to our fans as a married couple, having left them immediately after getting married," said the multitalented entertainer.

Mzansi Magic’s publicity manager, Bongiwe Potelwa, confirmed that both actors were back on Isibaya, but Sdumo Mtshali had not started shooting scenes yet because the finer details of his contract had not been finalised.

"Yes, Sdumo is returning to Isibaya. We are busy working on his return storyline. Once production has finalised the details we will share this with you. We are happy to have him back and are sure his fans are equally delighted as they love to see the love story unfold between Thandeka and Sbu."
