TopTV adds Afrikaans channel

Cape Town – Pay television provider TopTV will be broadcasting Afrikaanse Satelliet Televisie on all of their packages from October.

Afrikaanse Satelliet Televisie (ASTV) has been in existence since November 2009, and while the signal is free, viewers were previously required to reconfigure their DStv decoders in order to receive the signal.

The channel has now moved to TopTV and will be available on all of the provider's packages, with the most affordable being the R99 per month variety package. TopTV decoders (including satellite dish and installation) are now available for R299.

ASTV will no longer be available through reconfigured DStv decoders as of 1 October.

ASTV provides Afrikaans entertainment, news and sport programs as well as talk shows, religious programming and Afrikaans music.
