TopTV announces price increase

Cape Town - Pay broadcaster TopTV has increased the monthly subscription fees for many of its viewing packages.

In a newsletter to subscribers, TopTV announced its new pricing structure which will see an increase in fees of between 6 and 8% which will come into effect as of July 1.

The pay TV subscription service celebrated its first birthday in May and will also increase its subscription fees for the Indian bouquet Top Star, which is a separate add-on subscription that was introduced in October last year.

TopTV's cheapest subscription will remain unchanged at R99, with the next two packages increasing from R159 to R169 from July. The current R189 bouquet will increase to R199, and the two current packages that cost R219 will increase to R239.

TopTV's premier bouquet of R249 will cost R269 per month from July. Subscribers who pay for the additional Indian Top Star bouquet will be paying R69 instead of R60 per month from July.
