American TV show to shoot gun battle scene in Cape Town this weekend

Cape Town – US TV series Dominion, which is being filmed in Cape Town, will be shooting a gun battle scene on Friday in Harrington Street.

The Cape Town Central Community Police Forum announced the news on their Facebook page on Thursday.

"On Friday between 19:00 and 02:00 on Saturday morning if you hear the sounds of gunfire please do not be alarmed! The city has notified us that the filming for a series called "Dominion" for NBC will be taking place. On Friday night they will be on a roof top in Harrington Street and will clearly be 'shooting' an action scene with a gun battle! So no need to alert the authorities."

Dominion is an upcoming American apocalyptic supernatural TV series created by Scott Stewart. It is based on the 2010 film Legion, written by Peter Schink and Stewart.

The series, which is being filmed on location in Cape Town, will premiere on the American cable television network SyFy on 19 June 2014.

In December 2013, Syfy ordered a pilot episode, which is set 25 years after the end of the film. An army of lower angels, assembled by the archangel Gabriel, has waged a war of possession against mankind. The archangel Michael, turning against his own kind, has chosen to side with humanity against Gabriel. After the 25-year-long battle, newly fortified cities have arisen to protect human survivors.

Dominion stars Christopher Egan (Kings), Tom Wisdom (300), Roxanne McKee (Game of Thrones), Alan Dale (LOST), Anthony Stewart Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Luke Allen-Gale (The Borgias).

According to the show’s IMDB page it also stars SA actress and model Tanya van Graan as well as actor Carl Beukes.
