Cape Town – After surviving for 21 days, brother sister pair Gino, fondly know as Uncle Gino on social media and Tiffini were evicted from the Big Brother Mzansi house.
Their stay in the house were marked with sibling blow ups and fights but eventually they got it together. After being nominated twice and saved, their lunch finally ran out.
We chat to the pair about their stay in the house and whether this experience has strengthened their relationship.
What the first thing you did after you got out of the house?
Tiffini: I phoned Ex. It is a relationship am I going to pursue.
Channel24: But what about Pumba?
Tiffini: I was playing a game inside the house. He is a nice guy but I had my heart set on Ex from the beginning.
Channel24: So tell us how did the chat with Ex go?
Tiffini: He was shocked and taken a back by the whole Pumba situation but in the end we are making plans to see each other. I’m happy.
Channel24: Gino, what did you get up to?
Gino: The first thing I did was to take a bath, it was just lovely.
Did you have a strategy going into the house?
Gino: I didn’t have a strategy going into the house. I was just going to see how things go. As the game progressed I started working on a strategy but by then it was too late and we were evicted.
How well do you think you played the game?
Tiffini: I played the game pretty well. Most people thought we were a weak pair but we got stronger and stronger. We formed a closer bond as the weeks went by. I think that’s why people nominated us, they saw that we were getting stronger especially when it came to challenges we never gave up.
You had some big sibling blow ups. Has this made your relationship stronger?
Gino: We don’t live together so usually it has never gotten to the level that it did in the house. We hardly see each other. The arguments in the house was pretty real and I can be very sensitive at times. I didn’t care who was there I would say what was in my heart . I utterly love my sister.
Tiffini: Every argument we had in the house was real. When you are in the house there is a lot of pressure. When we argued people would see it as entertainment and kind of spur things on so that we would continue arguing. In the end we pulled it together.
Is there anything you would have done differently?
Tiffini: No, I think I played to my strength.
Gino: I would have strategised a bit more. I didn’t do that enough in the game. As you know I was doing this for her. In the beginning I was very laid back but as the game progressed I started seeing the bigger picture.
Gino, now that you’re gone who do you think will be doing all the cooking?
Gino: Oh goodness. Kay is a good cook and Khali loves eating so she should love cooking too.
Tiffini: I think that Mbali will cook a lot, she is very good in the kitchen. Khali is really good at making pap, I haven’t seen her make anything else. She is the designated pap cooker!
What are your most memorable moments in the house?
Tiffini: My most memorable moment was truth or dare because it sparked the flame between myself and Ex. And also the arena soccer challenge.
Three housemates have been issued strikes. How do you think this will affect the game going forward?
Gino: I was very glad that it was issued. It was a bit delayed, but rather late than never.
Tiffini: I think that everyone who got strikes will now be more cautious and more aware of what they say and do in the house. I think everyone will be chilled this week because they wouldn’t another one.
What are your plans now that you’re out of the house?
Tiffini: I am planning on using this opportunity to knock on as many doors. I really want to act and present and I am willing to do whatever it takes.
Gino: I would love to present a cooking show. I am a lot more creative than what was seen on Big Brother and I hope it will open doors for me.
Who do you think will make it to the finale and why?
Tiffini: Mbalsea (Chelsea and Mbali) and Kay and Pumba. Those are the teams I am rooting for.
Gino: Blue and K2 because they are strategists of note!
