We go into The Man Cave with Janez Vermeiren and Lunga Shabalala

Cape Town – There’s a hot new show on TV that no man or woman should miss!

The Man Cave, hosted by Janez Vermeiren and Lunga Shabalala, debuted on SABC 3 last week. And if the first episode is anything to go by, it’s going to be a hit with both men and women.

We got to tag along with Janez and Lunga and went behind-the-scenes at their exotic car shoot at Crossley and Webb.

It’s every girl's dream hanging out with these two hotties.

And yes, they’re as cool off screen as they are on screen. It’s easy to see why they work well together as  the camaraderie between the two of them are infectious!

We took the opportunity to get to know them a bit better...

Channel24:
"What’s your favourite car?"

Janez:
"I would have to say silver or black 1970 Porsche!", he continues, "A vintage Porsche or even the James Dean Porsche is just incredible. I’d rather have a vintage one than a new one."

Lunga:
"My favourite car has to be from a James Bond movie, the Ashton Martin DB5."

Channel24:
"Do you wear a tie or not? Which do you prefer?"

Janez:
"I wear ties when I go to functions but I take it off immediately afterwards!" He continues, "I prefer being without tie. I feel a bit restricted when I wear a tie."

Lunga:
"I enjoy both! I enjoy suiting up every once in a while it makes me feel like I’m almost mature," he says with a smile. "And down days I wear leather jackets and jeans."

Channel24:
"Which one of you are more competitive?"

Janez:
He laughs and says, "Oh gosh Lunga," He continues, "He is more competitive but I always beat him." From across the room Lunga says, "Don’t let him lie to you!"

Lunga:
"He is, Janez is very competitive. In fact he will make a competition out of anything." He continues, "And he’s a cheater by the way. I’ll be honest. I will put it on record. He’s a cheater! He knows what I’m talking about I’ll leave it at that," he says.

Janez interjects, "It’s not cheating. I’ll do anything for victory."

Lunga looks at me and says, "You see what I mean."

Channel24:
"Are you good in the kitchen?"

Janez:
"Uhm...",  he pauses, "Certain meals," he continues, "But I would say 90% of meals I’m useless at."

Lunga:
"Am I good in the kitchen? Well, I’m good at making breakfast and that’s as far as it goes", he says.

Channel24:
"Candle wax or chocolate body paint?"

Janez:
He laughs boisterously, "Chocolate body paint."

Lunga:
"Oh wow", he continues, "Chocolate body paint because you can eat it too."

Janez adds, "Candle wax is just too painful."

"Yeah, and I’m a sissy when it comes to too much pain," says Lunga.

Channel24:
"What’s the best handy man tip you’ve ever received?"

Janez:
"I’ve received hundreds of thousands of them. Electrical tips are the ones that have been the most beneficial to me." He continues, "Once we wired a lap for a TV programme we did and we didn’t earth it properly. So learning how to earth something was the most important tip cause with electricity you can burn the house down, you know," he says with a laugh.

Lunga:
"Go get the dry wall," he says earnestly.

Channel24:
"What do you think is the one movie every man should watch?"

Janez:
"Oh now you’ve got me!" He pauses and thinks for a while and continues, "Gladiator."

Lunga:
"Can I give you 4?," and continues, "Rocky I, II or III, Bad Boys I or II, Any Given Sunday and Gladiator."

Channel24:
"Have you ever gone skinny dipping?"

Janez:
"Many times," he adds playfully, "In fact I do it on a weekly basis."

Lunga:
"Yes, I do it every year."

Channel24:
"What’s the best man drink?"

Janez:
"Belgium beer."

Lunga:
"Beer."

Channel24:
"On a scale of 1-10 how good are you on the dance floor?"

Janez:
"I’m a 1, he adds, "But when I’m drunk I’m a 10," he laughs "my favourite drunk move is a lot of grinding!"

Lunga:
"I’m a -5. I’m practising the nene right now. Hopefully I will get it right soon before it goes out of fashion," he says.
