Cape Town – e.tv’s flagship entertainment music show Club 808 is back.
Celebrating their fourth birthday this year, it’s only fitting that the hottest music show got a serious upgrade.
The addition of a new presenter and exciting features to viewers has made the show an audience hit since it's return.
We had a quickie with Mo Flava to fill us in on Club 808’s return, that new presenter and the beef between AKA and Cassper Nyovest.
What is a Channel24 quickie? It’s a spontaneous episode consisting of five frisky questions in which celebs and Channel24 have a brief frolic leaving all parties involved feeling satisfied and craving a cigarette.
Channel24:
What excites you the most about Club 808’s return?
Mo Flava:
It’s an opportunity to re-energize and try new things in the way the show is put together and what we offer. And above all; giving e.tv viewers quality programming in the world of music and entertainment.
I'm also looking forward to hosting more parties as Club 808. It is important for us to be in the spaces we speak about all the time as we are that kind of show.
Channel24:
What is it like working alongside Nonhle Themba?
Mo Flava:
Nonhle is very bubbly and real. She's also got a soft side which helps calm the pressure of delivering every time we're on set. She's become one of the coolest people I know.
Channel24:
You recently interviewed Cassper Nyovest, what’s your take on the beef between him and AKA?
Mo Flava:
I think competition is healthy as long as it happens within the spirit of bringing out the best in one another. Hip-hop as a genre allows artists to have this sort of feud; it adds grit to an artist's persona.
It’s a pity that other parties had to take matters into their own hands; hence we had guns being pulled out. I don't think AKA or Cassper are violent people. I’m glad that things between them never got physical. Minus the bravado, both gentlemen are great guys.
Channel24:
What’s your favourite music video?
Mo Flava:
Nicki Minaj’s Anaconda! It’s pointless explaining why, I reckon it’s pretty obvious.
Channel24:
What are some of the things viewers can look forward to?
Mo Flava:
Club808 will be hosting mega parties all over South Africa so viewers can expect us to say ‘hi’ in their city real soon. I enjoy doing this sort of thing because it’s at the heart of what we're about. The Club 808 returns parties will be hitting different cities this summer.
Club 808 airs Friday night at 20:00 on e.tv.
