We have a quickie with Bake Off’s John Whaite and totally fall in love with his pies!

Cape Town – The popular baking show, The Great British Bake Off, returns to South African screens later this year for another exciting sugar-filled season to crown the best amateur baker in Britain.

We got to chat to the always charming John Whaite, season three winner, about his love for baking, sexy dishes and hot chefs!

Channel24:

"Where does your love for cooking and baking come from?"

John:
"I started baking with my family and friends," John says in a sexy husky voice. "We would make easy and competent dishes and spend our evenings and weekends together in the kitchen. It was quite argumentative and ferocious - it was family life," he laughs. "That instilled the love and comfort of food for me."

Channel24:
"What’s the biggest injury you’ve ever had in the kitchen?"

John:
"During the bake off I cut my finger in the food processor. It was quite stupid. I put my finger in the processor to test the consistency. I didn’t look what I was doing so my finger slid along the blade. It was really sharp. I had to leave the competition that day and go to hospital. That’s the worst injury I’ve had in the kitchen."

Channel24:
What is the sexiest dish you’ve ever made?

John:
"Now we’re talking!" he says excitedly. "I think chocolate is very sexy. A chocolate pudding with a molten centre is good for sharing in bed." He adds; "I like pie! Pie with proper pastry and a meaty filling always works. It just makes you feel good. And if you eat things that make you feel good...good things can just happen naturally afterwards," he says with a playful tone.

Channel24:
"What is your favourite thing to make at home?"

John:
"If I’m peckish and I want something sweet and quick, I make a batch of scones, because they’re easy and reliable."

Channel24:
"Who do you think is the hottest chef?"

John:
"Nigella Lawson is truly sexy. Not many chefs are sexy because they eat too much but that can be a good thing too. I think that anyone who can enjoy food can enjoy what goes on in the bedroom and anyone who knows how to cook will know to do good things!"
