We have a quickie with Strictly Come Dancing SA celeb Janine Davies

Cape Town – For Strictly Come Dancing SA season 7, motorbike racer Janine Davies got out of the driving seat and slipped on some dance shoes.

And boy did she smoulder while doing her sexy salsa number! We have to admit that we were quite sad to see her leave in the season’s first elimination.

Janine talked to us about everything dancing.

Channel24:

"What was the biggest surprise about taking part in Strictly?"

Janine:

"I guess it would be how hard it is." She continues, "It was really difficult learning how to do Ballroom and Latin."

Channel24:

"What is your personal dancing style?"

Janine:

She laughs, "My personal dancing style consisted of the music blaring in my house and me dancing in my room where no one could see me. And then when I was 18 I did the club scene with my friends and that was the extent of my dancing style." She adds, "When I was 5 my mom did try to enroll me in ballet classes but I was a little tomboy all I wanted to do was run and play outside. Those girls were way too calm for me," she adds laughing.

Channel24:

"Would you do it again?"

Janine:

"Definitely!", she says without a hint of hesitation. "I would have liked to progress past the first elimination. I didn’t get to do much. I was a bit disappointed in myself." She continues positively, "But you know how it is in life, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. And I choose to take all the good things I got from this experience."

Channel24:

"What did you enjoy most about the experience?"

Janine:

"I loved every aspect!" She continues excitedly, "I met amazing people and I learned so much about dancing and about myself and performing on camera live! I was introduced to a whole new world!" She adds, "As an athlete I have a new found appreciation for dance, for the hours of training that go into it, that appealed to me. I won’t stop dancing." Another benefit of dance that Janine discovered was that it’s great exercise, "I didn’t expect that it would be more than just cardio." She adds,  "I’m actually waiting on feedback about dance classes. At the launch we met a couple who train a dance that involves lifting your partner. My husband is quite strong so he’ll enjoy it, in fact he’s a better dancer than me."

Channel24:

"Who would you most like to dance with?"

Janine:

"Anyone in the world?" she asks. "It would definitely be Channing Tatum. And my husband of course. In fact he could dance with Channing’s wife while I danced with him and then we could swap partners," she laughs.
